Initial Planning

Module Aims: 
To extend the principles and delivery of of photographic practice through international contexts, addressing amongst others the following issues:
  • How is production impacted by international markets and trends? 
  • How does photography operate in different political climates? 
  • How do geographical differences impact on photographic practice?
  • How can photographic practice be adapted to meet the needs of emerging economies?
Intended Learning Outcomes:
Knowledge and Understanding
On successful completion of this module students will be able to: 
  • Critically evaluate how inter nation markets respond to photographic portfolios and digital image creation. 
  • Reflect on the principles of international photographic practice and marketing. 
  • Understand transferable skills in applied photographic practice as they may relate to other geographic areas. 
  • Professionally present photographic portfolios for external market opportunities. 
Transferable/Key Skills and other attributes
On completion of this module students will have had the opportunity to:
  • Evaluate and understand international photographic practice.
  • Identify channes for international exchange and/or representation including: books, websites, blogs, galleries, funders, exhibitions (reviews & catalogues)
  • Apply knowledge to a range of market opportunities across the photographic sector.
  • Demonstrate an ability to identify and make use of professional networks.
